Peer Review Process

An article submitted to the editorial office is subjected to initial formal verification and, after initial approval, is submitted for substantive evaluation (peer review), which takes about 6 weeks. Failure to meet formal requirements may result in the article not being accepted for scientific review and its withdrawal. In order to facilitate the work of authors and prevent the most common errors and misconduct, a checklist is available on the journal's website so that authors can ensure that the article has been properly prepared before sending it to the editors.

Submitted and pre-verified articles are reviewed by specialists outside the authors' home unit with the principle of mutual anonymity (double-blind review).

In other arrangements, the reviewer must sign a declaration of no conflict of interest; conflicts of interest are considered to exist between the reviewer and the author:
a) direct personal relationships (kinship, legal ties, conflict),
b) relations of professional subordination,
c) direct scientific cooperation in the last two years preceding the preparation of the review.

The review ends with a clear conclusion as to whether the article should be accepted for publication or rejected.
Depending on the reviewer's assessment, the Editorial Board decides on the further fate of the paper.
The decision of the Editorial Board is final.
The names of reviewers of individual publications/issues are not disclosed.

Once a year, the journal makes public the list of collaborating reviewers (List of reviewers).
