Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the phenomenon of grooming in the context of the development of digital technologies, with particular emphasis on the Internet and social media. Material and methods: The research methods used included content analysis, description, and exegesis of legal texts, reports, and literature on the subject. Analysis and description of the content of the literature on the subject played a particularly important role. The analyzed materials included scientific studies on the phenomenon of grooming, including both concise studies and scientific articles, reports containing research results on grooming, and legal acts concerning this phenomenon. Results: This allowed for the examination and description of the phenomenon of grooming and its potential consequences for both victims and perpetrators. Grooming, defined as the process of manipulation and exploitation of minors by adults in order to establish a relationship and then exploit it for sexual purposes, is a growing threat in the digital age. The article identifies key factors contributing to the escalation of this phenomenon, taking into account the impact of dynamic technological developments, including artificial intelligence and content recommendation algorithms, which may unknowingly make it easier for perpetrators to reach potential victims. In addition, the psychological consequences of grooming, such as depression, anxiety, and panic attacks, are analyzed. Conclusions: The conclusions of the study point to the need to intensify educational activities and implement effective preventive mechanisms aimed at reducing the scale of this phenomenon in the context of advancing digitalization. These measures should be introduced due to the ongoing development of this phenomenon, which poses a threat to the safety of minors.
